Photo of Julia, experienced French Translator, French Interpreter and French Conference Interpreter. Julia specialises in French Translation Services and French Interpreting Services.JULIA | Why Choose Me?

I have an MA in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Westminster, hence I am both a qualified French Interpreter / French Conference Interpreter and French Translator. I have experience in providing French Public Service interpreting services (medical and legal), French Conference interpreting services (simultaneous and consecutive) and French translation services.
As I am perfectly bilingual in French and English, I can interpret equally well in both directions and I do not have an accent in either language.

About me

I was born and brought up in France and am half English. Therefore I grew up speaking both languages. I came to study Spanish and Italian in the UK 10 years ago, as I had a passion for languages. As part of my studies, I had an Erasmus year in Rome. After graduating, I worked in the conference and media industries for a few years. I then decided to do a part time masters in translation and interpreting as I had always thought this career would suit me. During these studies I already started gaining professional experience in interpreting as a court, medical and French conference interpreter / French Interpreter. I have now been working as a freelance French Translator and French interpreter / French Conference Interpreter ever since.
My personal values as a French Translator/ French interpreter are impartiality, confidentiality and accuracy. Impartiality is crucial in my opinion. For instance as a court interpreter it is important to remain neutral. Confidentiality is also key for clients and I ensure I respect that by not communicating any information I am given during my work as an French Translator, French interpreter or French Conference Interpreter. Accuracy is a very important as a French Translator and interpreter and in order to achieve that I do extensive background research before starting any assignment I am given.

Reviews about my French Translator, French Interpreter and French Conference Interpreter services

‘Julia Dick has a very good attitude and is equally enthusiastic as accurate in her approach to the work. She managed to work steadily and thoroughly despite being exposed to stressful situations and remained flexible to short notice changes in the schedule. Moreover, Julia Dick shows a profound interest in the subject matter and personal investment in indigenous
issues and she was always available to provide assistance for all who needed it. We have very much appreciated the quality of her work and we would be pleased to count on her presence in our future Technical Secretariats.’

‘The interpreter was outstanding one of the best interpreters I have had. Not only was her linguistic skills excellent but she also had the ability to deal with two witnesses who had African accents. Additionally she dealt with a manner. The hearing lasted from 10:30-17:00 with a break but her skill and professionalism never failed. A truly outstanding interpreter.’

‘Excellent. Calm, patient with appellant. Very good interpretation, with an appellant who was difficult.’

‘Tu pourras indiquer à l’agence Présence que notre client a été très satisfait de la prestation de leur interprète, Julia Dick. Il a insisté pour que nous la remercions pour la qualité de son intervention, très largement appréciée. Merci de transmettre ces ondes positives aux personnes concernées ;-).’

‘The client was really happy with Julia and was wondering if she could cover all French interviews moving forward.’
